Estimated impact of the ASF findings in Finland on Atria’s result
African swine fever (ASF), found in wild boars in south-eastern Finland on 30 July 2026, affects Atria Finland’s pork exports to Asia.
Based on the latest information received from Atria’s most important pork export countries, Atria has assessed the impact of the ASF findings on pork exports. The annual direct result impact of Atria Finland’s lost and redirected export sales is estimated to be approximately EUR -7 million. The negative impact on EBIT in 2026 is estimated to be approximately EUR 4–5 million.
The above estimates are based on the assumptions that pork exports to, among others, China and Japan will be discontinued, while pork sales to South Korea will continue.
Atria is actively seeking new export markets and customers for pork. In addition, the company will take measures to reduce the negative result impact caused by the decline in pork sales to Asia.
ASF has been found in wild boars in a restricted area in Finland. It is of the utmost importance that the relevant authorities and parties take all possible measures to prevent the spread of the disease and to ensure that Finland can continue to export pork outside the EU in the future. If ASF spreads to a wider area or to commercial pig farms, its impacts on Atria will also change.
Notwithstanding the above, Atria maintains its outlook for 2026 unchanged. In 2026, Atria Group’s adjusted EBIT is expected to be higher than in the previous year (EUR 69.9 million).
